Every Student Every Day

Students who attend school regularly learn more and are more successful in school than students who do not. Parents who make regular school attendance a priority help their children learn and accept responsibility, which is critical for success in life. Attendance patters are formed early in life - children who develop good attendance habits in the early grades will be more likely to continue them throughout their school career and into adulthood. Students who don't attend school regularly miss out on carefully planned sequences of instruction, which involve active learning experiences and classroom participation. They miss out on the opportunity to interact with the teacher, providing them the opportunity to ask help when they need it, clarifying newly learned concepts so they can reach the next building block in their learning career. Those who do not remain active in their learning experience are more likely to fall behind, become disconnected, and possibly drop out. Give your child the best gift in life - the opportunity for an education. Make sure your child attends school daily.

When students are absent, they

  • miss valuable instruction time,

  • become disconnected,

  • find difficulty getting caught up,

  • result in a loss of state funding to the school.

What you can do to help your child:

Apple

Attendance is part of our Bobcat Contract for 7th and 8th grade activities at the end of the year! Students in good standing with attendance will have no more than 10 excused absences. Students with 3 or more unexcused absences are considered in jeopardy of being a truant, and may not able to attend special school extracurricular activities.

REMINDER: It is the parent/guardian's responsibility to report his/her child's absence(s) to the school in a timely manner (within 10 school days). Absences not verified within 10 days will be recorded as unexcused/truant.
