Hello, my name is
Paul Neault

Hello Bobcat parents and Visual Arts AND/OR U.S. History students of Mr. Paul Neault,
I wish we weren’t separated and could carry on with learning and creating in my classroom! But now the circumstances under which we all find ourselves make it impossible (at least for this semester). I know I speak for the entire Norco Intermediate School when I say I sincerely hope your family is healthy and staying positive during this time of crisis. We’ll get through this, together! Below you will find instructions for my 2nd/3rd periods of U.S. history, followed by instructions for my 4th/5th/6th/7th periods of Visual Arts.
I will send all assignment emails to students only.
U.S. HISTORY (2nd and 3rd periods)
MY OFFICE HOURS:
On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am until 10:30 am, I will be monitoring my school email account at [email protected] so I can answer any questions you have about the assignments I’ve assigned.
ASSIGNMENTS:
Beginning Monday morning (4/13) I'll be sending you an email on your student account that will have a few assignments that will cover Monday thru Thursday work. I will explain how to complete them. These assignments will be the 3-way Vocabulary and PowerPoint slides we always did for each chapter. I will give you plenty of instructions how to complete your assignments: for example, I will record myself talking about the vocabulary words/definitions, and talking about the PowerPoint slides to help you fill in the blanks. Since we won’t have chapter tests, you won’t need to memorize anything. I’ll explain this more in the recordings of myself that I email to you.
DUE DATES:
For the next (7) weeks, the assignments I send you on Monday will be due by Friday at 12:00pm of that week.
TURNING IN THE WORK:
You'll just need to send me an email back with a photo of your assignment attached once you finish an assignment.
YOUR GRADE WILL NOT GO DOWN:
If you turn in work that earns you a score that is lower than your Third Quarter Grade was, it will not count against you. Also, remember that although the ‘Q’ system will list work as ‘Missing’ if it is something you had not previously turned in or do not turn in moving forward (like the assignments I will begin assigning you on Monday 4/13), those blanks in the gradebook WILL NOT COUNT AGAINST YOUR GRADE.
CHEATING:
Practice integrity. Don’t be lazy. Do your own work! On certain assignments, if a student’s assignment is a copy of something already turned in by someone else, I will email both students to let them know they won’t be getting credit for it. Also, I’ll let their parents know their kids had the same assignment answers.
WORK IS OPTIONAL:
You can do all, some, or none of the assignments, it is up to you. However, keep in mind that this terrible virus situation will eventually resolve, and you’ll be able to head to high school. Why start high school behind your peers who made sure to keep their United States history skills sharp so the transition wouldn’t be too severe?
High school will already be a big adjustment for you in many ways, so try to be consistent in doing these assignments so you can reduce/remove at least one type of stress (academic struggles) during your freshman year!
FEEDBACK:
After the assignment due date, I will send the student their score/grade along with comments when that is workable. If the score is one that will help the student’s overall grade, I will put it in the gradebook within that week.
NO ASSIGNMENTS for Week 6/1 - 6/3:
